New airport radar is region’s “most advanced”

    NAIROBI

    A new radar system installed at the Kanombe International Airport in Kigali is the most advanced in the region, the system’s manufacturer said on Tuesday. In a statement, US-based Northrop Grumman Corporation said its ARSR-70 air route surveillance radar system, recently installed at the airport, provided countrywide airspace management and air traffic control, with a surveillance coverage of 250 nautical miles.
