Farmers meet war veterans leader

White farmers in Zimbabwe are due to continue their talks with war veterans' leaders over the invasion of farm lands, the BBC said on Friday.

Officials from the Commercial Farmers' Union (CFU) are meeting a delegation headed by Chenjerai Hunzvi, leader of the Zimbabwe National War Veterans' association.

CFU director David Hasluck said Thursday's talks with Hunzvi had taken place in a "businesslike atmosphere", and had made "progress" towards achieving conditions where the invaded farms could start producing at full capacity.

Meanwhile on Thursday, UK Foreign Secretary Robin Cook said after eight hours of talks with Zimbabwean ministers that there could be no more discussions on funding until violence and the invasion of white-owned farms had ended.
