The US government on Monday donated demining equipment worth US $300,000 to the country's defence force to help clear landmines.
The equipment included 200 portable landmine detectors, 200 bullet-proof suits, computers and first aid materials, media reports said.
Mozambique's defence force has been deactivating mines around electricity pylons in the Ressano Garcia area bordering South Africa. It has also reportedly cleared landmines from about 90,000 hectares of agricultural land in the southern province of Gaza.
