Senior official arrested by RCD

The former 'finance minister' of the Congolese rebel Rassemblement congolais pour la democratie (RCD), Jose Endudo, was arrested on Friday on charges of corruption and espionage. "He was arrested this morning on various charges: he stole funds from the movement, sent a plane belonging
to the movement to Kabila, and - worst of all - has been secretly meeting Kabila's people. And he has been circulating tracts in Goma calling on the RCD military wing to usurp power, which is treasonable," RCD chief of security and intelligence Bizima Karaha told IRIN on Friday. "The RCD has been too democratic; we have allowed our members to do whatever they want.

It is high time we instilled discipline in our ranks," Karaha added.
