A 10-member national women's committee is be established to give women a key role in national policy planning, the Minister of Gender and Women in Development, Angelina Muganza, said on Wednesday. "Women's representatives at the prefectural level are to elect a national committee, which is to have an upper hand in national development matters and forward women's ideas from various levels to the national level," Rwanda News Agency (RNA)
quoted Muganza as saying. "The women's congress is to have a permanent coordinating body and a secretariat that will implement women's plans of action," she added. A meeting of women's representatives at prefectural level in Ruhengeri, northeastern Rwanda, is currently addressing issues of national development, including HIV-AIDS, decentralisation and good
