Two journalists and a driver of the independent 'Daily News' were on Friday detained for two hours by ZANU-PF youth, the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) said on Monday.
The 'Daily News' trio - features editor Nyasha Nyakunu, photographer Tsvangirai Mukwazhi and their driver Shadreck Muchecheni - had gone to visit a farm outside the capital, Harare occupied by war veterans.
The crew, said MISA, was threatened with death for allegedly supporting the MDC and sympathising with white commercial farmers. The crew's two cameras and identity cards were confiscated before they were forced to march to the farmhouse where they were questioned on their motive for being in the area.
MISA added that the crew was set free after leaders of the independence war veterans arrived at the farm to address the invaders. Their equipment was, however, not handed back.
