The National Forces Alliance (NFA) of 11 Eritrean opposition factions on Monday decided to move its base from the Sudanese capital Khartoum to the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, Agence France Presse (AFP) agency reported on Tuesday, citing the Khartoum daily 'Al Sahafi' newspaper. The Sudanese government, unlike Ethiopia, had "offered little support" to the dissident
group, especially since Sudan had sued for improved relations with Eritrea in recent months, the report stated. The NFA also condemned the proposed repatriation of Eritrean refugees in Sudan, fearing they would be recruited for the war against Ethiopia. In addition, it maintained that those already moved had been settled in "arid areas near the warfront,"
the report added.
