Rapid decline in Brazzaville IDP numbers

Meanwhile, the number of IDPs in Brazzaville has declined rapidly as thousands of people move back to their home towns, leading to the closing of some IDP sites in the capital, humanitarian sources said. The ICRC said in a statement on 23 March that it had arranged the return of more than 3,000 people since the start of the year, including a trainload of 2,300
IDPs transported from Brazzaville to the Pool area on 19 March. "There was jubilation among the returnees, who sang throughout the trip," the statement said.
