An opinion poll released in Harare on Friday claimed that 63 percent of Zimbabweans want a change of government and 65 percent want President Robert Mugabe to step down, AFP reported.
The poll, based on a sample of 1,900 voters and conducted by Probe Market Research, showed that 57 percent of communal farmers - traditionally the powerbase of Mugabe’s ruling ZANU-PF party - also want a change of government.
The report added that rising prices and unemployment were the main issues for the majority of those surveyed, while only nine percent of the people said the land issue was their top priority. A staggering 74 percent of the respondents reportedly blamed the government for the unresolved land question.
