Malabo gets new power plant

A new thermal power station expected to end frequent power cuts in Equatorial Guinea's capital was opened on Friday, AFP reported, quoting national television in Malabo. President Teodoro Obiang Nguema opened the gas-fired plant, which cost nine billion CFA francs (US $13.5 million) and took two years to build, according to AFP.
