The United States pledged on Tuesday to help improve Senegal's aviation safety and security with the support of the World Bank, Reuters reported. A deal to this effect was signed at an international conference on the future of aviation being held in Chicago, the news agency said.
US Transportation Secretary Rodney Slater had visited Senegal in 1998 during a six-nation Africa visit as part of the U.S. ``Safe Skies for Africa'' initiative.
