Armed youths kidnap Delcon director

Eight armed youths believed to be Ijaws stormed the offices of Delcon Engineering at Enerhe, near Warri, at the weekend and kidnapped the managing director, Godfrey Igboin, ‘The Guardian’ reported on Monday. It said he was being held in an unidentified riverine community a few kilometres from Warri. The kidnappers have demanded 500,000 naira (US $5,197) ransom. The newspaper said that Ijaw youths had written to Igboin asking him why they were not being hired.
