Reward offered for Kaunda assassins

The Zambian police have offered a reward equivalent to US $4,000 for information leading to the arrest of two suspects wanted for the murder of Wezi Kaunda, the 47-year-old son of former president, Kenneth Kaunda, news reports said on Tuesday. Police officials on Tuesday named the two wanted men as Jack Happy Kabongo Shichanda, a taxi driver, and Amon Banda. “Police are offering a reward of 5 million kwacha for each of the two suspects to anyone who will apprehend or pass information that will lead to the arrest of any of the two,” police spokesman Richard Mwanza said. Two other suspects were last week remanded in custody in connection with the assassination on 4 November.
