Festus Mogae, president of Botswana has called on African leaders to do some “soul searching” and look at the levels of corruption within their respective governments, ‘Business Day’ reported on Wednesday.
Speaking at an international corruption summit in Durban, South Africa, he said: “Let us do this now without being punished. Let us not be misled by the absence of specific reports on acts of corruption, but rather let us see what systems failures, costs of overruns and delayed or incomplete infrastructure developments are likely to have been the result of corruption.”
