A batch of 35 officials from police intelligence, the military and immigration have begun a six-week training course on crime management as part of an effort to curb rising crime in Ghana, the ‘Ghana Review International’ reported.
Opening the course on Tuesday, William Abuah, commissioner of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) said that, in the past few months, Ghana had experienced an acute escalation in crime, especially rapes, armed robbery and murder. He said people involved in crime were now using sophisticated gadgets and weapons, and “training should take into consideration the new psyche of the modern criminal to stem the trend”.
