Three US missionaries charged with terrorism and espionage but convicted only of possessing illegal weapons are to serve just two more months in prison, media reports said on Tuesday.
A supreme court judge on Monday sentenced John Dixon, Gary Blanchard and Joseph Pettijohn to 21 months in prison for illegally possessing guns and trying to check them onto a commercial airline at Harare airport in March. Citing "clear evidence" that the men had been tortured in custody, Justice Ismail Adam then suspended 90 percent of the sentence
for time already served and good behaviour, the reports said.
