SADC leaders in Malaysia for trade talks

At least 12 SADC leaders and officials arrived in Malaysia at the weekend to participate in a four-day conference which aims to bring developing nations into "smart partnerships" with the business sector, news reports said. The meeting was opened by Malaysia's prime minister, Mahathir Mohamad, and was also attended by leaders and officials from Taiwan and Thailand. The SADC countries represented at the conference include Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Mozambique, South Africa, Swaziland, Seychelles and Tanzania.
