Returning officers fired

    JOHANNESBURG
    The Malawi Electoral Commission has fired two district commissioners from acting as returning officers during the country’s 15 June general elections for “not cooperating” with the commission, PANA reported on Tuesday. The two men - the DC for Lilongwe Geoffrey Mwanja and the DC for Mzimba Martin Mainja - have been at the center of controversy over alleged bias in favour of the ruling United Democratic Front.
