Genocide suspects freed in Gisenyi

Meanwhile, the authorities in the northwest Gisenyi area have begun releasing genocide suspects who have no case files against them, Rwandan radio reported. It said 22 were freed on Wednesday and a further 152 are expected to be released within three days. The Gisenyi prosecutor said the releases did not mean the suspects were innocent. If they were found guilty, they would be returned to jail, he said.
