The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo, which has been battling rebels since last August, has asked Nigeria to send a contingent of security forces to help restore law and order in the Central African nation.
The request was presented in Abuja last week to the Nigerian police authorities by a visiting Congolese delegation headed by Foreign Minister David Mbwankiem, according to a report by Nigerian TV.
