DRC's Transport Minister Odette Etoa Babandoa has been arrested after being accused of accepting bribes from a foreign company, AP reported. She was accused of involvement in a "bribery scandal" that included payoffs from an international airport construction firm, allegedly based in Canada. AP, however, quoted an anonymous government official as confirming the arrest, but saying the minister had been targeted because she had tried to expose corruption allegations against other members of President Laurent-Desire Kabila's government.
