Levels of violence still intolerable - CFU

The President of the Commercial Farmers’ Union, Tim Henwood, said in a statement on Tuesday that despite trying every possible avenue over a period of six months to have law and order restored on occupied farms, the state of lawlessness caused by war veterans and their followers on hundreds of farms was continuing at intolerable levels.

“Work is already seriously behind-hand due to the farm invasions and consequent stoppages. But under the continuing untenable circumstances with all (even last-minute) appeals seemingly falling on deaf ears, we now have no alternative but to share in the national call for the restoration of law and order in Zimbabwe, through the mass stay-away,” Henwood said.
