Electoral Commission accredits poll observers

    ABIDJAN

    The Electoral Commission has said that seven local and four international organisations have been accredited to observe the general elections on 7 December, Chief Director of Elections Kwame Damoah-Agyeman, told the Ghana News Agency on Friday.

    The ‘Daily Graphic’, a government-owned Accra daily, reported the foreign bodies as The International Foundation for Education and Self-Help, the Sierra Leone National Electoral Commission Observer Group, the Nigerian Electoral Commission and the diplomatic missions in Ghana, headed by the British High Commission.

    Local bodies are the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers, the National Union of Ghana Students, the Ghana Legal Literacy and Resource Foundation, Free and Fair Election International, the National Integrity Protection Society, Friends of the Alphabet, and the Forum for Religious Bodies.
