AIDS vaccine handbook released for general public

The AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition (AVAC), a US-based NGO, has released a new publication to help the general public understand why an effective vaccine for the disease has been elusive. AVAC says its recently published 'AIDS Vaccine Handbook' will allow people to understand in simple terms the complexity of the international quest for a successful vaccine. Mitchell Warren, the coalition's executive director, said in a statement: "To marshal and sustain public involvement in global AIDS vaccine efforts, communities need information that not only educates but also suggests how people can play an active role." An electronic version of the handbook is available at: http://www.avac.org/primer2.htm
