Government HIV/AIDS toolkit to be launched

    JOHANNESBURG

    A parliamentary HIV communication toolkit, aimed at enhancing AIDS awareness among government officials, is to be launched in Uganda on Thursday.

    "The toolkit is intended to strengthen the capacity of MPs to advocate for appropriate interventions in the fight against AIDS," a local newspaper, New Vision, quoted parliamentary spokesman Bernard Eceru as saying.

    Apart from listing the role of members in tackling the pandemic, the 310-page booklet will also highlight human rights issues and emerging anti-AIDS technology.
