An HIV/AIDS directory for visually impaired and blind students has been made available in South Africa.
The University of South Africa (UNISA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health developed the braille directory in an effort to reinforce the dignity of disabled people.
At the launch of the directory on Wednesday, Health Minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang said the government was faced with the huge challenges of building a health system to ensure access to quality health care services for all.
The government's news agency, BuaNews, quoted Tshabalala-Msimang as saying: "Government has always been passionate about the rights of people with disability ... I hope this directory will allow blind and visually impaired individuals, as well as organisations that provide support and care, to access the services available relating to HIV and AIDS."
