Funding for workplace HIV/AIDS programmes

A project to help strengthen Zimbabwe's HIV/AIDS initiatives in the workplace was launched this week, the local Financial Gazette reported on Thursday. The Zimbabwe AIDS Policy and Advocacy (ZAPA) programme aims to fund private and public sector companies involved in the fight against workplace HIV/AIDS. "We decided to fund these companies because they are facing economic hardships and cannot implement such policies," ZAPA senior policy specialist, Alex Zinanga said. Zimbabwean firms have been hard hit by the country's worst economic crisis in 23 years. Zinanga said companies could apply for funding by submitting proposals detailing their workplace initiatives.
