The US-based Emory International School of Law is set to host a two-day symposium next month addressing difficulties on the diagnosis and treatment of HIV/AIDS in the developing world.
"The world's least developed nations do not have the ability to supply even a portion of their population with HIV/AIDS medication," Emory International Law Review said in a statement.
Called the "Nexus Symposium", the event on 3-4 April will host a multinational cast of industry leaders, policy makers and leading scholars.
"The combination of prohibitive costs and rigorous drug regimens often places drug therapies beyond the reach of many developing nations," Law Review member and symposium chair, Peter Fischer, said.
Emory said UN special envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa, Stephen Lewis, will be the keynote speaker.
