Concern over Global Fund kitty

    JOHANNESBURG

    South Africa's health minister on Tuesday accused developed countries of not honouring their pledges to the UN Global AIDS Fund, the South African Press Agency (SAPA) reported.

    Briefing the country's National Assembly, Dr. Manto Tshabalala-Msimang said the Fund's "kitty is empty".

    "We have got to rely on the goodwill of the developed countries and hope they will honour their pledges. We can only appeal, as I do all the time, for the pledges to be honoured," Tshabalala-Msimang said.
