The National Association of People living With HIV/AIDS (NAPWA) declared Wednesday a 'Black Christmas' because of the plight of more than 4.7 million people in the country living with the disease.
On Monday NAPWA spokesman, Joe Manciya said in a statement demonstrations would be held on Wednesday and Thursday, targeting financial institutions that continue to discriminate against people living with HIV/AIDS.
"Discussions will also be held during the course of Wednesday or Thursday on access to social grants from government, and practical implementation of grievances against the meaningless LoveLife billboards," Manciya added.
NAPWA said its leadership would also visit a children's home in the Mpumalanga province, and pay a "non-friendly" visit to an HIV/AIDS drugs manufacturing company in Johannesburg.
