Government troops have killed 120 rebels in northern Chad, the Ministry of Communication’s deputy director general, Aba Ali Kaya, told IRIN on Thursday. Kaya said the clash occurred on Tuesday while the soldiers were patrolling the region. Kaya said that the government’s forces suffered no casualties, denying rebel claims that they killed 63 government soldiers and destroyed equipment.
