Fifty children who had been abducted by the rebel Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) have been rescued by Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) from various places in the Rwenzori Mountains and the DRC, the semi-official ‘New Vision’ newspaper reported on Wednesday. The children, aged between two and 17, were now undergoing a reorientation course, the report said. It quoted a former chief of staff of the ADF, Christopher Tushabe, as saying that 43 former rebels and captives had also surrendered.
