Comoran president arrives in Khartoum

President Azali Assoumani of the Federal Islamic Republic of the Comoros arrived in Khartoum, Sudan, at the weekend for talks with government officials, Sudanese state television reported on Monday. It said Assoumani, who held talks in New York with President Umar al-Bashir on the sidelines of the UN Millennium Summit, would hold talks in Khartoum with the presidential advisor, Abd-al-Basit Sabdarat; the minister of manpower, Major-General Alison Manani Magaya and the external relations minister, Bishop Gabriel Rorech, and other officials. The broadcast, monitored by the BBC, gave no further details.
