Eritrea complains over arrest

    ABIDJAN

    The Eritrean embassy in Addis Ababa has called for the release of its official driver, Tesfu Haile, reportedly arrested by Ethiopian security personnel on 10 August. A statement carried by the Eritrean Network Information Centre said Tesfu had been arrested while the Eritrean charge d’affaires was visiting the Austrian ambassador during an official function. The Eritrean embassy statement added thatt the arrest “constitutes a violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations”.
