Two DRC editors working for independent publications have been arrested in the capital Kinshasa. A Kinshasa-based organisation fighting for press freedom, Journalistes en danger (JED), named the two as Aime Kakese Vinalu of the weekly ‘Le Carrousel’ and Xavier Bonane Yanganzi of the biweekly ‘Vision’. Vinalu has already appeared before a military court, AFP reported. Yanganzi says no reason has been given for his arrest, AFP noted that in its latest edition, ‘Vision’ reported that Interpol had launched enquires into Congolese leaders. The journalist was among the recently appointed members of the transitional assembly.
