Commonwealth Secretary General Don McKinnon said at the weekend that he doubted whether the upcoming elections could be free and fair.
"One still has to be concerned that the problems there do not really look as though they are conducive to free and fair elections," McKinnon said in a BBC radio interview. "Far too many people have been killed. It is not a good omen," he said.
The Commonwealth has dispatched a team of observers to Zimbabwe which will remain beyond the 24-25 June election.
