Over 10 killed in rebel attacks

    NAIROBI
    Over 10 people were killed, nine wounded and some 250 houses torched in rebel attacks in Bukeye and Kiyange zones in Kibago commune, Makamba province in southeast Burundi, the area's administrator Deo Niyonzima said. The private Netpress news agency quoted him at the weekend as saying that security forces shot down six attackers and recovered a rifle. The rebels fled towards Tanzania after looting some 50 heads of cattle, he added.
