Beshir says elections in October will be free and fair

    ABIDJAN

    President Omar Hassan Beshir said the ruling National Congress Party was being reorganised to make it transparent and just ahead opf parliamentary elections scheduled to take place in October, the government-owned 'Al-Anbaa' newspaper reported on Monday. He pledged that the elections would be free and fair. "the next elections will be a model, free and fair, to choose the strong and the trusted," the newspaper reported him as
    saying. The elections will be the first since the government eased a ban on multi-party politics in January 1999.
