Namibia will not experience the kind of desperate and violent grab for land as is happening in Zimbabwe, President Sam Nujoma said.
He said Namibia had more land and fewer people compared to Zimbabwe. His remarks were made in parliament in response to the leader of the official opposition coalition, Katuutire Kaura.
"I think we are politically mature," Nujoma said. "We should thank God that God has given us big land," said Nujoma, explaining that in countries such as Germany populations more than 25 times that of Namibia share a much smaller space. "Here we are less than two million. Now, unless we are crazy
this cannot happen. We can accommodate each other. Why ask this question, you know Namibia very well," Nujoma said.
