Ten MPs from the ruling ZANU-PF party have resigned to stand as
independents, news reports said on Tuesday. The deputies, most of whom have been critical of President Mugabe, announced their move as parliament concluded its last session. They had reportedly fallen foul of ZANU-PF's recent primary elections. There is media speculation that other dissenting MPs within the party may also quit.
