Agriculture Minister Roland Massaquoi has asked international donors for money, material and technical support for the National Environmental Commission, LINA reported on Monday.
Opening a three-day national environment commission workshop in Monrovia last week, he said the help was needed to make up the agency's internet system, provide consultants, as well as pay for participation in projects and international symposia.
He said Liberia needed to set up a national policy framework in harmony with global policies and strategies.
The commission, established in 1999, is being funded by the Liberian government and the UNDP, he said. Liberia provides US $400,000 to the commission annually - almost half its budget.
He announced that Liberia had ratified the convention on bio-diversity and the framework convention on climate change.
