Anti-Arusha protestors reportedly arrested

The government's special investigations brigade arrested 13 people at the weekend following a wave of demonstrations against the Arusha peace process, Net Press news agency reported on Sunday. The demonstrators reportedly chose the day on which Belgian Foreign Minister Louis Michel was visiting to show their opposition to the ongoing peace talks.

Meanwhile, Michel on Sunday appealed to Europe and the rest of the international community to act "immediately" in offering aid to help stabilise the situation in Burundi, new organisations reported.
