Airlift to northern Pool begins

ICRC on Monday began airlifting relief supplies to Kindamba for
distribution to conflict-affected populations in northern Pool. An ICRC statement said it was setting up a feeding centre in Kindamba for severely malnourished people, while the moderately malnourished would receive meals in a public kitchen. ICRC is also providing medical care to the civilian population and has started repairing the town's hospital. Large parts of
northern Pool have been inaccessible by road since last year because of the fighting, and tens of thousands of people had spent months hiding in the forest. The ICRC airlift is scheduled to last for a month, the statement said.
