Floating power station arrives in Lagos

Three barges carrying a floating power station arrived in Lagos this week, under an agreement reached in September between the Lagos State government and the US group Enron to boost the power supply in Nigeria's commercial capital. Installing the 90-megawatt floating power station is the first phase of the agreement. Phase II is the building of a 540-megawatt power station on shore, as a more permanent solution to the unending power shortage in Lagos, AFP reported.
