Kigali calls for personal apology from Annan

Rwanda has called on Kofi Annan to travel to Kigali and apologise in person for the UN's failure to prevent the 1994 genocide. "We expect the Secretary-General to come here to personally offer his apologies and those of the UN," Minister in the President's Office Patrick Mazimhaka told the BBC. "We hope he will take the trouble because he was in charge at the
time."
