More airlines fly to Namibia

International airlines flying to Namibia have increased to eight, while the weekly frequencies of operation have doubled, the ministry of works, transport and communication was quoted as saying on Thursday. It said in a statement that another major European airline has indicated that it would operate a route to the namibian capital, Windhoek, via Johannesburg from March, bringing the number of international airlines to nine. “Passenger movement at the Hosea Kutato International Airport has grown from 311,424 in 1994 to 470,534 in 1998, an increase of 51 percent,” it stated.
