Zambian President Frederick Chiluba is pressing faction leaders of the splintered rebel Congolese Rally for Democracy (RCD) to come to Lusaka and put into action a ceasefire to end war in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Reuters reported on Tuesday.
Chiluba, mediating in the DRC conflict, told Reuters that he expected faction leaders Ernest Wamba dia Wamba and Emile Ilunga for talks in Zambia on Wednesday. "I have asked them to come and I expect them to come on Wednesday so that we can move head with the business of implementing peace in the Congo," Chiluba said.
