Sub-Saharan health ministers meet

    JOHANNESBURG

    A five-day conference involving health ministers from 43 Sub Saharan countries opened in the Namibian capital, Windhoek, on Monday.

    According to media reports, it is likely to focus on HIV/AIDS and malaria. An estimated 70 percent of the world's 5.8 million new HIV/AIDS infections last year occurred in the region. Topics such as tobacco control and the eradication of polio are also likely to come under discussion.
