Nujoma signs deals with India

Sam Nujoma, Namibia's president, who is on a three-day state visit to India, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian caretaker prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on cooperation in non-conventional energy resources on Thursday, media reports said. In terms of the agreements, India will extend US $5 million Exim bank line of credit to Namibia, while the other agreement would enable India's Central Electronics Ltd to set up a manufacturing unit for solar panels and models in Namibia, which would help the country promote the use of solar energy.
