Former Portuguese colonies plan joint arms building

Portugal's former African colonies are to build a number of arms factories it was unveiled by defense officials of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries on Friday. According to the Associated Press, defence officials had gathered in Luanda to discuss among other issues defence cooperation, new communication technologies and the military situation in each country. AP reported that it was not clear in which countries the factories are to be built. Meanwhile, Angolan television reported that Luanda proposed the establishment of an international defence commission which would analyse defence issues to be raised by member countries, and develop technical and military cooperation.
